"A clever, gripping sci-fi/fantasy which is as much for adults…"
02-Dec-2010
A clever, gripping sci-fi/fantasy which is as much for adults as older teens. This book is really for 13/14+ as it is the first in a trilogy which touches on a some really gritty issues including genocide. The book is set in a place, Prentisstown, where there is information overload, and men can hear each other's "noise" (thoughts). There are no women. Todd Hewitt is Prentisstown's last boy and he doesn't have long to find what the secret of the noise and the disappearance of the women is all about. A stunning book and you won't be disappointed by the other two in the series either.
