The Butterfly Lion, by Michael Morpurgo

This is a book my daughter has read three times. She's ten but read it first at eight.
It's about a lion cub who is adopted by a young boy and their journey together. There is an old woman who befriends the boy and has a secret which isrevealed later in the book. It is a story of growing up and discovering the world together.
