The Amazing Story of Adolphus Tips, by Michael Morpurgo

My 8 year old daughter read this herself so I'm passing on feedback from her!
The book is set in 1943. Its about about a village being evacuated in the war and how a young girl copes with it.

My daughter wasn't sure about the book at first, she got very worried during the first couple of chapters that the book might be too scary and she would only read it with me by her side. Considering as she likes all sorts including Harry Potter it must be a powerful book for a child to read. She did read the book to the end and described it as 'Happy-Sad'
