This is my little girl's favorite book. The illustrations are witty and jump out at young readers and the text is funny and very interactive. I would suggest putting on funny voices for the characters and getting the kids to rat a tat tat on the door. Anyway, when all's said and done, I would be quite happy if my little girl picked up some of the characteristics of the redoubtable Ms Emily Brown!

It's brilliant brilliant brilliant. Emily Brown and Stanley (the rabbit) are busy having adventures (the outer most reaches of the milky way, the amazon rain forest, the sahara desert)when her glorious majesty Queen Gloriana tries to buy, then eventually when rebuffed firmly but politely, to steal Stanley. My daughter got it for her second birthday and takes EB's adventures very seriously (now refers to the bramly patch at the botom of the garden as "th'Amzon ran forest". And there's a lovely rhythmic ratatatat on the kitchen (or garden) door at the end of every second page - which the junior reader very quickly joins in on. It's unmissable
