Seriously Silly Stories, by Laurance Anholt & Arthur Robins

My 5.5yo DD loves these stories and they make her laugh by providing a twist on stories she is already familiar with. I would highly recommend these as a way to to play with stories and look at different perspectives. Very funny too!

These stories are perfect for 5/6/7 year olds who are just moving on from picture books - they're short, really funny with great characters and some v clever twists on stories your child will already be familiar with. 'Eco Wolf and the Three Pigs' is a favourite in our house- even my ten year old quotes from it and also 'Fat Jack and the Bean Stack' about Jack who climbs up a stack of baked beans into the sky and a giant who ends up falling in love with Jack's wife. My kids laugh and laugh at these books.

A twist on traditional fairy stories. Jack and the Beanstalk becomes Daft Jack and the Bean Stack, etc. My daughter loved these and they had her giggling away to herself for ages.
