Pippi Longstocking, by Astrid Lindgren, Lauren Child

I remembered Pippi fondly from my own childhood and loved the illustrations by Lauren Child which add wonderfully to these funny, poignant stories. I read a chapter every night to my 7yr old daughter and she loved hearing about the many adventures of Pippi and co. As a child she found them exciting, funny and engaging. As an adult re-reading the Pippi stories I thought they were incredible poignant and wonderfully written. A truly enjoyable bedtime story experience.

I adore Pippi she was a great part of my childhood and I could barely wait to introduce these books to my daughter.
She is nearly 6 and we started on them a couple of months back and she loves them, we are on the 2nd book already.

My daughter loves this book as much as I did. Pippi Longstocking is an enchanting character and is an important part of childhood.

My absolute favourite book as a child so now I'm reading several pages every night to my 5 year old son. I thought it may be a bit early for Pippi, plus there aren't many illustrations, but no - he loves it! So does my friend's daughter who's 4. Highly recommend this book - it's retained its magic!

Pippi was good enough for me when I was young and now good enough for my children. Lovely then and lovely now!

Lovely story, and lovely illustrations (want more!) great for boys and girls - my son was completely enraptured!

Beautiful adaptation of this classic story of Pippi. Lovely illustrations from Lauren Child (Charlie & Lola). This book is a must for all young girls! Fab!
