I originally bought this book about 4 years ago for my son. He loved it. It rhymes beautifully and follows a clever story about a Monkey who's lost his mum. A Butterfly goes on a mission to help him find her. They come across many different animals along the way. I find the story fun and educational at the same time. It had my little boy in stitches. Now I have a little girl, and low and behold her favourite book is Monkey Puzzle!!! It's now her favourite bedtime story!Read moreLess

Love, love, love this book. My one year old has heard it since he was very small and continues to show huge interest in it when it is read to him.
The rhyme of the words makes it very accessible and enjoyable. And of course, the introduction to all the animals make it a great way to learn about the similar (and different) traits animals have.
Donaldson writes fabulous books for kids, so you can't go wrong choosing one of hers, however this one is a must!Read moreLess

I must confess that I didn't buy this for my daughter initially as she was going through a senstive phase and I thought she'd be upset by the idea of the monkey losing his mummy. Then we went to a friend's house and read it and she absolutely loved it. We first read it when she was nearly two and it's the first book I remember her really laughing out loud too - she thought all the mistakes the animals made were so funny. I guarantee this'll make your little one laugh and you'll enjoy reading it too.Read moreLess
