Gilgamesh, a picture book trilogy, by Ludmila Zeman

This is a brilliant trilogy of picture books, retelling the ancient story in a concise, accurate way. The illustrations are exciting, and the content - love, war, fighting, fear, loneliness, success, religion - is going to give you plenty to talk about at bedtime! One of the original action adventure stories, and with some ancient world knowledge thrown in. My daughters have loved the series since they were about three, and I recently read it in school to thirty nine year olds who were similarly entranced. Just brilliant.
