For the Record, by Ellie Irving

This is a wonderful book for an eager young reader. It's touchingly warm sentiment was a refreshing change from all the fairy stories I have been subjected to recently. Luke, a young boy obsessed with world records, sets about stopping his village from being bulldozed to the ground. The colourful array of characters are simply hilarious and I defy any adult who may be reading this to their child not to laugh out loud. My daughter would not allow me to get away with any less than 3 chapters a night! I would highly recommend this book to anyone who has an inquisitive, headstrong child....but beware..may lead to numerous record breaking attempts at home!
