This was my son's favourite book aged 2. It was also the longest book he would sit through at this age. The ending always made him laugh. Now at 4 he is starting to read the words himself. An excellent book!

My son, just 2, loves this book, and the others in the range (especially "Fix it Duck"). It is very different to other books for this age with the comic strip layout and realistic drawings, and I do like that about it.
I don't really like the message it gives at the end, where the duck just leaves his friends stuck in the muck after they have helped him out!Read moreLessMumsnetter crumblequeen

A firm favourite in our house since DS was very little and I am still reading it regularly now he is three. The Duck in the Truck is beautifully illustrated with funny pictures and the easy to remember rhymes make it brilliant for reading out aloud together. Our favourite in the Duck series.

All the Duck in Truck books are clever, well-written and well-illustrated. All our dc, even the eldest at 9yo, enjoy these books.

DS age2 when he first met duck, loves all the books in this series. Favourite is fix-it duck which he now pretty much knows off by heart, as do we ( you have been warned!) Great pictures, rhyming text, appeals to DS sense of humour with plenty of mishaps.

This book quickly became one of my son's favourites. He loved the illustrations as much as the story itself and never tired of it.

Both my daughters like this book. The pictures are really bright nd bold and there is lots going on. The rhyming text is great for little ones to listen to. We started reading it when my eldest daughter was just a baby and she loved sitting listening to it and looking at the pictures. Now she is older (nearly 4) the book is perfect for her to start to try and 'read' by herself. There aren't many words and they are bold and clear, so she can help me follow the words with her finger and hopefully start to recognise them herself.
I agree with the other reviewer though - Duck isn't my favourite book character, but the children see to like him!Read moreLessMumsnetter creambun

We have enjoyed this book over and over. Feckless and foolish, but fascinating pictures. Also love 'fix-it duck'.
The rhymes could scan better, though.Read moreLess"My kids love this - but I'm not a fan.…"

My kids love this - but I'm not a fan. I didn't mind this original book, but the follow on Duck books (Hit the Ball Duck, Captain Duck, Fix it Duck) really make me cringe, as Duck is such an awful, selfish, feckless creature. Still, I'm sure I am over analysing, and my kids like them all. I do try to convince them to read something else though!

This is a fab book. I have been reading it over the last four years for both children and still find it amusing. The pictures are great and there is always something to discover.
