Comments from other Mumsnetters:
Each page features a typical day-at-home scene with lots of every-day items for learning vocabulary. "My kids enjoyed opening the flaps and touching the different textures from the furry cat to the smooth window pane from a very early age, almost as soon as they could reach out. Lifting the curtains, in particular, was a great favourite". "Opening the biscuit tin made the book a firm favourite with my son". "As ever with Rod Campbell the illustrations are simple but so identifiable for small children".Read moreLessMumsnetter RachelMumsnet

Buster is my daughter's favourite. It is simple, she understands each page as Buster feeds the cat, goes in the garden etc. She likes the flaps and loves Buster. So much so, that we have also bought Buster's bedtime.

Buster is a little boy who features in lots of Rod Campbell books, this series is aimed at young babies and I bought my daughter a copy of Buster's Day when she was about 11 months old thinking it was probably a mistake and that she would be too young for it.
How wrong I was! She absolutely loves it. Buster is an adorable baby boy who, in this story, is finding out about his home and the things that we as adults take for granted and probably do not notice enough to remember to tell Baby what they are!
This book is designed to be read to your baby but I am sure my daughter will love reading this alone when she is old enough. She loves to point at Buster as he is looking around his own house and the other day when I was reading it to her in the kitchen she ran across to point at our washing machine when Buster found his.
The fun of Buster's Day is that it is a lift-the-flap book so when Buster sees something which takes his fancy my daughter can lift up the flap to discover exactly what is in the washing machine or what Mummy keeps in her kitchen cupboards. My daughter giggles when she sees the washing in the machine as since she was tiny she has enjoyed watching my washing machine go round and round.
The text is very simple and holds my daughters attention so that I can read the couple of lines on each page to her before going back to point at various objects she has spotted in the illustrations. There are lots of household items to point at and I always name them so that as she is slowing becoming more vocal I hope I am teaching her new words to be filed away until she is more confident with her speech. I know some of these items she definitely recognises from her day to day routine because she will glance over to the vacuum when we point to the one in Buster's house.
The illustrations are fantastic. Buster always looks curious and happy and even though the pictures are quite simply drawn there is a definite eye for detail and lots of smaller items are included in the overall picture of the room Buster is exploring. The pages are nice and colourful which my daughter loves and we sit lifting the flaps up and down for ages at story time.
The book as a whole is very well constructed and even though the flaps have been lifted and pulled around for over two months now (this probably equates to hundreds of times!) there is no tearing or loosening of the flaps. There are 20 pages in this board book and usually I'd think this was too many for such a small baby, but in all honesty the story and illustrations are so engaging that my daughter does not get bored at all and sits and laughs at each page as if it was the first time she'd seen them.

This is a lovely book, ideal for 2-3 year olds. They love lifting the flaps to see what's in Buster's cupboard, etc.
