"Great for teenagers…"
I got this book for free by being chosen by mumsnet hq. This is in my own true words. This book is great for teens with an interest in vampires, demons and fairies. The book is about a girl called clary fray, who sees the murder of a boy, which she stumbles upon in a club. This book is quite good for teenagers , with a great ending!Read moreLess
"an excellent book overall…"
I was picked by Munmsnet HQ to review this book, which I received for free. This review is in my own words and reflects my true opinion.A book in the same mould as the Percy Jackson books, but though well written, lacking something. Despite that, I found it very difficult to put down, even though it lacked depth, a fascinating story that unfortunately perhaps hasn't particularly made me want to read more. I'm passing it on to my son now, as I'm sure it's better geared for his age group.Read moreLess

"City of Bones is a gritty fantasy aimed at…"
City of Bones is a gritty fantasy aimed at young adults, but has enough depth to entertain 'old' adults too. The book combines the currently popular demons/fairies/vampire combination with a traditional 'coming of age story' where the heroine (Clary Fray) really does have to discover who she and her family really are, and deal with all the secrets and problems this throws up. I loved this book, and its sequel 'City of Ashes', and I'm waiting very impatiently for the final volume which comes out in 2009. A definite recommendation for any teens with an interest in fantasy.Read moreLess
