"Funny, touching family read - not just for kids…"
A touching story of a cynical girl and her new friend Ulysses (a squirrel who has recently gained self-awareness, as well as various other super powers not commonly found in a squirrel). Don't be turned off by the simple speech the author uses. This is a strong story, with great characters. What really got me was the subtle humor alternating with powerful emotional gut checks. I would definitely recommend this book.Read moreLess
"amazing, fantastic, humorous and a bit of nonsense!…"
“There are quite a lot of words that under 8 year olds won’t understand. However Flora and & Ulysses is quite a good story for it has quite a good starting. Children shall like the idea of a super- hero squirrel. I think that William Spiver is extremely funny and the blinding business is hilarious.
I like Flora and Ulysses because it is so magic and humorous that it takes you off earth and puts you in this sort of dream until you finish reading.” – Sophia Dennett age 7
“I thought that the characters were really quirky. It had a great sense of fun and I loved the amazing typing squirrel. It inspired us to look up other books by the same author.” -V Dennett, Sophia’s Mum

It is madcap and fun and my 8 year old daughter a fan of the phoenix comic book series loved itRead moreLess
