"Like everyone else says, its naff as the food gets"
19-Oct-2011
Like everyone else says, its naff as the food gets everywhere. when your busy enough with your baby, the last thing you want to be doing is taking the seat apart to wash (handy though as I often put mine in the wash). The only reason I haven't sold mine on is the price I paid! The ikea one looks much easier/clean to use. Plus what is the point in the height adjustable? I've never used it nor the 'handy basket' on the back. sorry but save your money and but the snack happy one if you really want a chicco.

"Altogether too much fuss. Very big and cumbersome so difficult"
08-Oct-2011
Altogether too much fuss. Very big and cumbersome so difficult to store. Lots of nooks and crannies for food to get stuck in. I'm afraid I didn't like it at all and sold mine on eBay.

"Really don't like it - the tray table is mega"
17-Aug-2011
Really don't like it - the tray table is mega high and really really difficult to get on or off. DS was choking yesterday and I really struggled to pull the table out quickly enough to get to him! Really heavy and wide (though v stable)tried my friend's £11 IKEA high chair at the weekend and it was so much easier!

"We bought a Chicco Polly 2 in 1 Savannah high"

We bought a Chicco Polly 2 in 1 Savannah high chair. Somewhat pricey but worth every penny. Adjustments are very good, easy to clean, great parents tray on leg.

"If I had to sum this chair up in a"
09-Jun-2011
If I had to sum this chair up in a sentence, it would be 'the chair designed by sadists for masochists'. We were given this chair secondhand by someone who still has a young baby. After three months, I know why.
It has some pros - it's very adjustable and the padded seat insert helps you to sit a small baby in it. It's quite stable as well.
But the cons - oh, the cons ! It is a nightmare to clean. Every single surface contains a nook, groove, funnel or tube. The arms alone contain 12 separate holes / indentations into which your baby can poke food. The harness features special grooves which are exactly deep and narrow enough to make them impossible to wipe whilst at the perfect position for grubby fingers to grab hold of. Let's not get started on the seat linings (not easy to wash / take hours to dry) or the underlying honeyconb-like plastic seat which features a labyrinth of grooves and nooks designed to secretly ambush food spills and hold them hostage until they are rock solid. Another poster mentioned she cleaned the seat with a hose - we tried the shower but found that water got trapped in the hollow tubing of the legs and turned stinky and rusty before leaking out onto our kitchen floor.
Other lesser cons are that the tray is quite high for a baby less than a year; (so if self feeding, the food goes under the tray rather than over it) and the 'footprint' of the chair's quite big, though this does make it more stable. It is also not a quick job to detach the seat lining or harness for a clean - too much hassle to do it after every feed, for example.
So if you don't mind hours of cleaning or lots of old food sticking to your chair, this is the chair for you !Read moreLess3 people found this review helpful.

"we decided to buy a fairly decent high chair when"
17-Mar-2011
we decided to buy a fairly decent high chair when we had our first child and have never looked back. Been using it now for 4 yrs and gone through 2 kids, it has been a very comfortable and easy to use chair. The chair is well padded and child can use the straps or the table can be pused up close to them to secure them with not too much a gap for food to fall down onto them. The foot rest adjusts and the chair reclines if you so need it to. It can be opened with one arm and a foot, and the height of the chair can be lifted up to fit under any table if you want them to sit at the table with you. Overall very pleased with this high chair.

"Bought this for DS and used for DD now 1.5."
07-Apr-2010
Bought this for DS and used for DD now 1.5. We have just sold it on as DD now in booster seat at dining table.
It was brill, comfy, great for newborn to toddler. Trying to keep seat clean was bit tricky, food got stuck in all groves. After 3.5 years of use seat was cracked in places but still lovely highchair.Read moreLessMumsnetter Nettiespagetti

"This is a great high chair that takes your baby"
08-Sep-2009
This is a great high chair that takes your baby from birth to 3 years. I didn't like the idea of my third baby being left on the floor in the corner in his bouncy chair while we had a meal, so when I saw this chair I bought it straight away and it's great. Search the web for best price - I paid £117 and it costs £150 in some stores!

"It's been a great chair for us. It looks like"
22-Aug-2009
It's been a great chair for us. It looks like a highchair and it functions like one. Easy to clean, esp the tray. I don't really like those minimalist wooden highchairs as I think 9 out of 10 6-8 month olds would find them tricky to sit comfortably in compared to something like the Chicco Polly.
We used it in various rooms in our hse and moved it from room to room easily. It served us well until age 3.
It is heavy, but stable and folds small.Read moreLess1 person found this review helpful.

"Still like it and use it for out 2 year"
09-Aug-2009
Still like it and use it for out 2 year old! It is big- but we have a huge dining room so dont mind it. The reclining was so usefull when we first started using it at 5.5 months and had S in it on a lower position. Few times she even fell asleep in it while watching me cook. Was good to keep her high and close- reclined so she can see what I was doing and be entertained. The kiddy tray is great, keeping a little one from wiggling too much when fed. Parent tray and the storage bag we never used as the storage one is unpractical- have to open it with both hands to put anything in. But thinking about it- what would you store at the bottom of the high chair anyway...
The only thing I mind is cleaning. The food does get everywhere and at one point I couldn't just wipe it clean any more as it was in the stage when it neaded propper soaking. That actually made it worse- water stayed in thick padding, never dryed after days and days in the sun, and now it stinks like hell!
The fact that we've got one that has no wheels at all and Chicco wont sell us the new part with wheels didn't make me happy eather. But now I just don't move it at all as I don't nead to...Read moreLessMumsnetter Micilici

"Comfy looking well padded seat. Straps are easy to adjust"
20-Jul-2009
Comfy looking well padded seat. Straps are easy to adjust even for small babies. Post under the tray unit stops babies slipping down in the seat. Adjustable footrest meant my 6 month old can even reach it.
But it's expensive, difficult to move even with the wheels as there's nowhere to lift it with to put it on the wheels, the tray is difficult to put on if you take it off the runners completely and it's very high - mid chest on my 8month. The recline feature and height adjust seemed nice but I have never and will never use them so not worth paying extra for.Read moreLessMumsnetter Dibbdobb

"We bought this and started our dd in it when"
08-Jan-2009
We bought this and started our dd in it when she was about 5 months old - it was very well padded but she looked tiny! It's a very sturdey chair, and she was always very comfy in it - the tray is easy to remove and clean, and really it looks great!
It's easy to fold, slightly more trickly to higher and lower, and the harness is pretty straightforward to use and remove for washing. The toy net and parent tray as well as removable snack tray to go on top of the main tray are great, but tbh we didn't use them! The main problem with it is that it's HUGE! Our kitchen isn't small, but it was always in the way and not that portable once up.
In the end, when she got to about 16 months, we decided that it was just too big and bulky and just bough a cheap and cheerful booster seat to strap to a kitchen chair and have her at the table with us! I didn't realise when I spent all that time researching a high chair that she probably wouldn't need it for much more than a year, and looking back would probably have gone for a much cheaper, more basic model!Read moreLessMumsnetter BunchesBunny

"This highchair is really comfy for babies of all ages"
04-Sep-2008
This highchair is really comfy for babies of all ages and can be adjusted really well to fit as a chair under any table.
It comes up like new if you put the straps and seat padding in the washing machine. I clean the frame by lugging it outside then spraying with the hosepipe. It will last for as many kids as you need it to if you buy replacement seat covers for each kid (mine got tears in them with DS1) they are £25 inc delivery from Chicco.
It is expensive though.Read moreLessMumsnetter moomaa

"A fantastic, well padded and robust highchair with lots of"
16-May-2008
A fantastic, well padded and robust highchair with lots of extras like removable dual layer tray and drink holder/toy basket/recline feature BUT do you really need all that? DD love to sit in it, but tbh if we were to do it again we would probably just get a booster seat for one of our kitchen chairs as it is MASSIVE!! Takes up a lot of room and I am always tripping over the legs!!

"Awful. We were recommended it by a friend who thought"
28-Mar-2008
Awful. We were recommended it by a friend who thought it was great. Wish I hadn't bothered now. We're about to buy a Tripp Trapp.
It's impossible to keep anything other than the tray clean as food and debris manages to find its way into every nook and cranny.
It takes up a lot of space, and is really hard to move as it's got rubber 'feet' and weighs a ton. The straps get stained with anything containing tomato and this doesn't come off. I also find it hard to sit close to as the footprint is so large and the footplate sticks out quite a lot.
It's also bloody ugly.
Incidentally, my friend who recommended it also now hates it and has bought a different chair....Read moreLessMumsnetter ChloeAnderson

"I love the design, but it is a big highchair"
20-Mar-2008
I love the design, but it is a big highchair all the same. Practical design though, esp as of the height adjustments and the ability to recline it. I'd recommend it to anyone who's got the space and requires something sturdy for one or more child!

"we hated it! We lasted a few months and then"
31-Jan-2008
we hated it! We lasted a few months and then we bought the stokke. We found it very heavy to move and difficult to fold away. The food gets in all the nuts and crannies possible from the tray, to the safety buckle and chair cover. It is also very big!!

"We bought this for our son when he was 6"
04-Oct-2007
We bought this for our son when he was 6 months old and it has come in really handy for our daughter as it does recline and she went in it at about 4 months. The major issue is that it is HUGE and takes up loads of space in our kitchen - wish we had thought of its size before we bought it!

"Brilliant, we bought the Polly 2 in 1 system for"
15-Sep-2007
Brilliant, we bought the Polly 2 in 1 system for our 5 and half mth old as he was already weaned onto solids and sitting well in a chair when eating. I had certain criteria that I wanted in a highchair and the Polly filled all those demands. It is very easy to clean, the height is adjustable to where ever we are feeding him from. It is easily folded away and although may seem a little bulky at first it is very stable. The new updated model has two wheels on the back stands so you can bring it closer or push away from you if needs be. The front stands have rubber so they are non slip. A handy small tray linked to the side can keep any food and bottles aside without the fear of getting knocked off. The Table is completely removable so once the child is old enough to sit with Mom and Dad, you can use this at just about any dinning table height. Great for us and we love it!

"A brilliant hign chair even though a bit bulky put"
19-Aug-2007
A brilliant hign chair even though a bit bulky put then that adds to the stability of the product. Insert to use for younger babies and the back comes down to resting position. Tray comes with a tray cover which is easy to remove and clean without having to take the child out. The only thing I really disliked aout thisproduct was the lack of wheels for easy moneurving.

"It's the eternal dilemma - fashion or function? A comfy"
12-Jul-2007
It's the eternal dilemma - fashion or function? A comfy pair of Cornish pasties, or a fabulous pair of stilettoes?
When it comes to highchairs, I fear that the Chicco Polly is firmly in the camp of the beetlecrushers. It's big. When you fold it out, it's a whopping 80cm deep by 60cm wide, which is not the sort of size you can discreetly tuck under your kitchen table. What's more, it's got great, big, knock-your-eye-out patterns, and it's not pretty, Polly.
What it is, however, is jolly useful. If your baby is young enough still to fall asleep when you've fed them, you can just recline the seat. (Big orange buttons make it child's play to use the seat's numerous adjust functions.)
It's all wipe clean. There's a great big tray, with a removeable wipe-clean top, in front of your infant where she can play with her toys and slobber over her rusk while you are getting your brekker.
There's a removeable, padded inner that you can take away when your baby gets bigger. The height adjusts, the height and rake of the leg rest adjusts.
It folds up easily, and slimmer than you'd think. But it's still not small. This is a highchair that screams: my baby has taken over my life. If you don't fancy that, try a Svan.Read moreLess3 people found this review helpful.
