"Great looking high chair, nice height and stability. Smooth action"
05-Oct-2011
Great looking high chair, nice height and stability. Smooth action when adjusting, nice large tray too. On the downside it's maybe a little tricky to clean and has a large footprint. Not cheap either, but if you're reading this you'll already know that.

"The Bloom 'loft' high chair is not the bloom highchair."
05-Feb-2011
The Bloom 'loft' high chair is not the bloom highchair. It's higher than most 'high' chairs.
Thats high, I can tell you! and I love it for that very reason. You don't have to actually live in a loft to appreciate its hydraulic system that allows you to adjust the seating from table level to bar level. It would be great in fact if you could get these brilliant little baby pods in bars! So your little one could keep you company whilst you quench your liver in unsustainable liquids but they don't, most probably for that very reason.
Nevertheless it's so adaptable and great the idea of a fixed seat seamed implausible in our little space. Although it's somewhat cumbersome, you have to build the space pod on delivery and it has somewhat awkward wheels to help you glide, if necessary, along the floor once assembled.
It has three adjustable ages:
- 0-6 months (for when your little one can rest in it strapped in of course like a baby in a tulip snoozing)
- 6-18 months (for when we have started to wean him. It works so well in our kitchen as you can swing him round to you and offer him various fruits and vegetables when cooking as well as feed him at waist hight if need be.
The straps are a little bit big at this stage, at 7 months, they are like space flight security straps, I just end up clipping him in at the waist and use the shoulder straps as support on either side of his waist.)
- 18 months-3/4 years (it adjusts into a seat later.)
The price is justified by its longevity.
If you are into adaptability and want to have your little one with you in the kitchen at full loft height playing or want to feed him at your own table, this is a great one for all seasons and of course if your just a bit blue with the whole motherhood thing and someone close (and rich) to you wants to treat you and your little one to a swanky necessity this will cheer you up. Building it made me feel like I was in a scene from flash dance, a hip modern chick, maybe not working the steel mines by day but attaching a hydraulic system made me have a glimmer of pride at my tool handling ability.
Last but not least in these practical mothering wars, its practical but also just looks so damn modern. My little one looks like an extra in Stanely Kubrick's 2001 at dinner time siting in his high egg pod and, for that, it's worth every penny.Read moreLessMumsnetter doubledee73

"This is honestly the worst £300 I have ever spent,"
04-Feb-2011
This is honestly the worst £300 I have ever spent, current our Bloom Hair is being auctioned on eBay and we swapped it for another brand.
It looks great but that is the only thing does well.
1. Our boy started using it when he was about 7 months old, he is now 13 months old. He HATES it and has never looked comfortable. Always slouched over and looks like he is going to get a bad back. The high back means he cannot look over his shoulder or behind him.
2. Whoever designed this does not have children, food gets in all the little nooks and crannies. It is very difficult to clean.
3. Putting the straps on and off is very difficult but very necessary in order to clean. Whilst takn the straps out I cut my finger and part of the chair snapped off. Do not be fooled this is made in china and close up I shows.
4.The lever at the back that adjusts the tilt is so tight and hard to pull that my wife cannot use it.
5. Wheeling it around it is unwieldy and awkward, it also takes up a lot of space.
Absolute rubbish, stay well clear!Read moreLessMumsnetter Whosthedaddi

"I can only comment at this stage about the recline"
03-Feb-2011
I can only comment at this stage about the recline as my daughter is only 4 months old.
It has been my favourite donation from a friend as she will sit there quite happily while we eat or do the dishes etc. She loves being at our level at the table and we just swing her round so she can watch whatever we are doing.Because she has been watching us eat, I think it will really help when the time comes for weaning as she is more than used to the chair and takes great interest in what we eat.
Had I had to buy it myself I would have baulked at the price and chose something else however if I have another baby and this chair is on loan to someone else I would buy myself one as I couldn't be without it.Read moreLessMumsnetter Fosmum

"I loved my Fresco Bloom at first, it looked trendy"
17-Jan-2011
I loved my Fresco Bloom at first, it looked trendy in the kitchen, the recline was handy to allow the baby to 'join in' at dinner time and it was a lovely big tray and seat but once my children started feeding themselves and making a lot of mess I found it a complete nightmare to clean. There are so many crevises for food to get into, the seat pad (I had the orange) seemed to cling to food and was very grimy after a while, despite scrubbing, I took off the strap pads as they were hard to clean too and it just took so much time. My youngest is not even two and I have sold it as I got fed up with having to spend so much time cleaning it. I used to use my cheap ikea chair more.

"We love our Bloom Fresco highchair. We did wonder about"
13-Jan-2011
We love our Bloom Fresco highchair. We did wonder about the cost and if it would be worth it but our baby girl has sat in it everyday since day 1! She was so comfortable and secure - that's where she napped through the day when she was just tiny. It looks great in the kitchen and now that she is weaning it is lovely that she can sit at the breakfast bar with us. We've found that the insert wipes clean easily. It is big so requires space to sit out all the time. It is also bulky to move around. But all in all it has been our favourite buy. Definitely worth the money for us.

"Love this highchair, yes it takes up a lot of"
30-Oct-2010
Love this highchair, yes it takes up a lot of room so only get one if you have space, and it's not the easiest to clean but I just remove the whole tray and seat insert every couple of days and give the whole thing a good wipe and it's fine.
Best thing about it is that you can use it from newborn, was great to have my daughter in it when she was tiny whilst I cooked, ate breakfast, etc and it was great when she started eating as she was so happy in her chair by then it was never an issue to get her used to it.Read moreLessMumsnetter MrsTeddy

"Bought a Fresco loft highchair two years ago. it looks"
24-Aug-2010
Bought a Fresco loft highchair two years ago. it looks stunning and brilliant for a new born to recline in. However, when your baby starts feeding in it you discover what a nightmare it is to keep clean - but to be fair, this is the case with most highchairs. The problem has been that it has started to tilt forward, so the tray tips down when my daughter sits in it, causing food to slide forward. I have attempted to adjust it myself but with no luck. I have spoken to someone at Bloom baby UK 4 times now and although they say they will ring back and help, I have yet to receive a call. Has anyone else had a similar problem with this chair? To be honest, it feels rickety now and although it looks gorgeous when clean, I don't think it's worth the £300 + I paid for it.

"Just thought I'd say we also have a broken safety"
07-Apr-2010
Just thought I'd say we also have a broken safety bar. I'm hoping Blooming Marvellous will be helpful and efficient about sending a replacement.
Chair Pros:
Looks great.
Chair Cons:
Questionable build quality
Heavy to move
Takes up a lot of room
Difficult to clean
Does not adjust low enough to fit our dining table
Overwhelming and uncomfortable for the first stage of weaningRead moreLess2 people found this review helpful.

"Great highchair & usefull with a new born when you"
17-Aug-2009
Great highchair & usefull with a new born when you put it in the recline position (always strap them in!) Son was in this from day one, it was great to have him in the room safe while cooking etc. Now he is nearly 10 month old he loves sitting at the table with us to eat. It can change height to fit different tables, ideal with a dining room and a breakfast room. Shoulder straps a little flimsy and broke first time they were used, but we don't used them anyway, so not bothered. All in all a great chair & good looking even if it does cost more.

"Very sturdy piece of equipment - except this is also"
15-Aug-2009
Very sturdy piece of equipment - except this is also very stylish!!! Expensive but if you look around the internet you'll see variety of prices. Blooming Marvellous offer 15% discount with MNET code and if they have none in stock try Boo Hoo Baby where we got ours - they will price-match. In fact they were able to go £10 below B Marvellous price as I pushed them very hard!!

"Rubbish. It looks so beautiful but the safety bar keeps"
15-Jul-2009
Rubbish. It looks so beautiful but the safety bar keeps cracking. It has been replaced once (lasts 5/6 weeks) and now a replacement unit is being arranged (big hassle - have to be in 1 day to receive it, then assemble it & put old one in box in it's place and then be in that next day for it to be collected). There is a 2 year guarantee thank goodness but you have to liaise with your supplier so make sure you have good thoughts about the supplier if you buy one. Maybe I just got a duff one but I have read of others with the same problem....

"We have had the Fresco Bloom for my daughter since"
19-Feb-2009
We have had the Fresco Bloom for my daughter since she was 6 weeks and it has been fabulous. She was able to sit with us at the table for meals before she began weaning. Now that she is eating, its even better. If I need to get up and get something for her, I can spin the chair around so she can watch me.

"This is a great highchair that is suitable from birth."
13-Aug-2008
This is a great highchair that is suitable from birth. For use with a newborn it can be used as a cradle and then it adapts as your child grows. It can be used up at the table or with the tray and it is suitable till about 5 years. It has to be the best looking highchair on the market.
