"This chair is brilliant. We first bought one five years"
04-Feb-2012
This chair is brilliant. We first bought one five years ago for my son and he still uses it now. Just bought another ready for my daughter. It is really sturdy, easy to put together and looks good too. It goes right up to the table like a normal chair which is brilliant. Excellent value for money.

"we bought this while i was pregnant with number 2,"
09-Nov-2010
we bought this while i was pregnant with number 2, number 1 was 2.5years and getting to heavy to lift into our ikea chair, she loves to climb up and seat herself although does push herself out from the table, but the chair is very sturdy and we have wooden floor so she just slides, great purchase albeit a little pricey.

"Cannot recommend this more highly. Well put together, easy to"
17-Aug-2010
Cannot recommend this more highly. Well put together, easy to use, fits in well at the table (doesn't look like some plastic creation) and ensure your child sits at the table from the start of weaning.
DD is almost 2 and we still use it. We've removed the baby bar and just have a simple harness now but I can see us using this for a long time yet.
Good quality, easy to clean and fab for family meals. Well worth it and not too expensive, especially when compared with the Stokke.Read moreLess1 person found this review helpful.

"Bought the white version with baby bar & black seat"
09-Aug-2010
Bought the white version with baby bar & black seat cushion.
I really wanted a Stokke trip trap, but when I priced it up, I quickly realised that it was too expensive. Having spent ages researching options, I chose the Babydan based on the fact that it has the same principal as the trip trap in that it is highly adjustable & sits lovely up to a family dining table.
It is easy to assemble & is very high quality. We started to use this with our son at 7mths. To begin with I had some real problems getting him in/out as he did not understand to bend his legs & I panicked (our ds is taller than average for age & rather chunky thighs) however, I adjusted the bar to the largest setting of the 3 options & my ds quickly learnt what he needed to do, although I always talk him through it. He sits up beautifully to the dining table & always looks rather pleased with himself! Its is very easy to clean & I really like the apperance of it in our space limited kitchen. When ds sits in other highchairs when out he never sits as well & I think that the more restrained they are by harnessing etc, the more uptight they will be during meal times.Read moreLessMumsnetter deltafly

"We bought it after a friend bought hers and told"
26-Nov-2009
We bought it after a friend bought hers and told us how good it was. It was very easy to build and will last for ages as you can adjust it to the baby's growth.
Very easy to clean and does not have any hidden places for food to stay. We bought the cousion with it and now our daughter is four months and loving it. We don't use the straps and she sets very nicely on it.
It was not the cheapest option but having in mind that will last for a few good years the price isn't that bad. Also it looks fantastic thanks to the design and it does not take a lot of space. It is ideal to de the chores in the kitchen and having my daughter looking at me while I am doing it which she loves.
I would very happy recommend this high chair to anyone who loves having their kids with them on the table as long as they don;t mind gtting a bit of messy table.Read moreLessMumsnetter Mareta

"Good quality chair, ideal if you dont want a plastic"
31-Mar-2009
Good quality chair, ideal if you dont want a plastic eyesore in your kitchen for 3 years. Easy to clean. Removable tray would be great for younger children. Son was 2 and a half when I bought it and as it's not padded like most highchairs wouldn't use it for a young child. Expensive but should last years. Almost impossible to topple over, unlike some similar wooden highchairs.

"I really like this chair and got a great deal"
21-Jan-2009
I really like this chair and got a great deal from Kiddicare so it wasn't too expensive.
The only problem I have with it is getting my son in and out of it - he's 5mnths old and so doesn't understand when to bend/straighten his legs and the wooden bar at the front is unforgiving. Add to this his chubby tum and that makes it even more difficult!
However, I can see that the chair will last for ages, looks good and is brilliant as a space-saver so its definitely a winner.Read moreLess1 person found this review helpful.

06-Jun-2008
This chair looks great, doesn't take up much room, and means our baby girl can join us at the table. It was simple to put together, is really sturdy and was excellent value for money. We have used it since our little girl was 5 months and it supported her well from day 1 although she did need to use the cushion - at 9 months the cushion is nice to have but not essential.
If you are worried about your table though, get a chair with a tray.Read moreLess"you hardly notice it's there, it's not difficult to clean"

you hardly notice it's there, it's not difficult to clean really, i love having my daughter actually at the table with us. yes the table is taking a battering (but we are now using a cloth to protect it)! got it on kiddicare for half the quoted price here. we don't use cushions or strap, she's happy it in though. been using it since she was about 6 months and could easily sit unaided. it looks great too, no plastic monstrosities in my house!!

"Trying to decide between the Stokke Tripp Trapp and the"
10-Apr-2008
Trying to decide between the Stokke Tripp Trapp and the BabyDan Chair I couldn't see much between them, except a huge price difference. My sister has the Stokke and her 14 month old is hard to squeeze in and out because it's so tight! The adjustability of the BabyDan, on the other hand, is brilliant, especially the front brace, and it's really easy to do. I did wonder whether it would fit under our table because I wanted to put it at the end of the table where there's a stretcher/runner, but the base of the BabyDan chair just slips under and leaves the chair the perfect distance from the table. It's a great looking piece of furniture but the best thing about it is that it fits my child and table perfectly. I got mine from Thatcuteage.com - fantastic service and combined price for chair and cushion of £74 including delivery - SO recommended!

05-Sep-2007
Cheaper than the Stokke highchair but just as easy to use, it's been a lifesaver in our house. Easy to clean, pulls up to the table so baby can join in the meals. Buy from Kiddicare for a lot less than the price quoted here - we paid £49.99.

A great highchair that will last for ages. It looks fab pulled up to the tabel - no huge plastic monstrosity here!
Easy to assemble, the seat cushions add comfort and are washable, though wipe clean may be more useful.
Doesn't fold up, but it sits neatly at our table, so storage is not an issue.
You can get them for cheaper than the list price from Argos, or Ebay.Read moreLessMumsnetter Jojay

Loved it so much i now have two! tried the booster seat thing with several different types when DS was 2 and couldn't get one that he sat on well. Went for baby dan as cheaper than some but looked good and sturdy. So much easier to clean than my conventional high chair and easy to assemble and adjust

I love it! It looks so good - a proper piece of furniture. My son can eat at the table - not marooned in the middle of the floor. Having used other highchairs in restaurants etc, I'm so glad we splashed out on this one.

"The babydan highchair is excellent. It lets our son sit"
07-Jan-2007
The babydan highchair is excellent. It lets our son sit at the table and be more a part of the family meal. Unfortuneately I didn't buy it until he was about a year and a half so it seemed quite pricey after I had already spent £100 on a Mamas and Pappas highchair. I would definietely recommend it. It is easy to clean and simple to use and will be part of our family dining for many years as it can be used right up to about age 10.

It is now only about £60 on kiddicare, making it half the price of the TrippTrapp. It looks great and fits snugly under the table. Best of all, it gets my 3 year old the right height at a table to really enjoy eating with the whole family.

Looks good and compared with others that look similar its good value. However, restraining webbing strap is really hard to clean and I underestimated how useful having a table would have be. We ended up buying a travel highchair (with a table)and thats a lot easier, but we like having our baby at the table. Overall its ok though.

07-Jan-2007
It looks great & I wanted a highchair that I could push up to the table so our daughter could eat with us rather than away from the table. It doesn't fold up so if you're short on space not ideal but it pushes right under our table so it just replaces a chair. Our daughter could sit pretty well at 5 months so we have never fed her in anything other than the danchair. Shop around & you will get it for around £70-£80 incl cushions. Cushions can be washed in the washing machine, I have 2 sets so I always have one clean...they do get very messy. Also the straps get very messy would have been better if they had been wrapped in some kind of washable fabric but it's no big deal.
