"Did not like it at all…"
I expressed for 6 months with my first child using a Pigeon manual pump, which was superb. The Avent pump was on special when I was pregnant with my second and I thought, 'how different can these pumps be?' Well they are completely different. The Avent pump leaks from almost every part of it, completely defeating the purpose of it being to collect milk. It was a complete waste of money and if I could give it zero stars I would. I also have a Tommee Tippee manual pump and it works almost as well as the Pigeon pump.Read moreLess
"I bought this one after having DC1 and found that…"
I bought this one after having DC1 and found that I was unable to pump more than a few drops using it. At the time it knocked my confidence until I was told that the amount you can pump is no reflection on how much you are producing.
If you use this pump and find that you have very little coming out, I would try a different pump.Read moreLess

"Amazing breastpump. I used this pump for my two babies…"
Amazing breastpump. I used this pump for my two babies and expressed for both of them for 1 year and 1.5 years respectively. Much better than an electric pump and although fiddly at first, was a doddle with time. It was my must have mummy item throughout the early years.Read moreLess

"I originally bought an Avent Isis IQ, which is electronic,…"
I originally bought an Avent Isis IQ, which is electronic, but ended up only using it with the manual pump. I expressed at work, so bought an Avent Isis so I could have one at home and one at work.
Once I worked out how to assemble the pump the first time, I found it very easy to do subsequently. It is also easy to clean the parts with the little brush that was included in the box before sterilising.
I expressed at work for several months using the Avent and found it quickly expressed my milk and the pumping action didn't hurt my wrist.Read moreLess

"I think that expressing is easy for some & not…"
I think that expressing is easy for some & not for others regardless of which pump you use. I started to use the Avent isis about a month after my baby was born. I have found that it is sometimes difficult to obtain a full vaccuum seal initially but with a little patience, it creates a seal effective enough to allow good milk flow. Enough so that I've barely needed to squeeze the handle. There is a small rubber stopper which comes out & is easlily lost in washing up bowl, but customer services at Avent are happy to send replacements out (sent me 4 in a packet when I contacted them). The down side to using this pump is that I swapped to Tommee Tippee bottles when he suddenly refused to take from a bottle. The T.T bottles were a success & it became a real faff switching milk across bottles. For this reason I would consider getting a T.T one next time around.Read moreLess

Fiddly to put together, difficult to use one handed and uncomfortable. Hardly got any milk out at all. Have had far more success with medela swing. Wouldn't recommend.Read moreLess
