The Jumeirah Beach's location "next to Wild Wadi park with 10am access for guests" was a massive bonus for Mumsnetters. The "excellent kids club" and "safe beach" were the icing on the cake.

Winner: La Bigorre, Charente Maritime, France
"The owners have thought of everything" at this cottage complex set in "a beautiful part of France". Families loved the wide selection of bikes to take down "lovely quiet lanes through the vineyards". The pool and "huge selection of toys" also got the thumbs-up.

Winner: Court Farm Holidays, Bude, Cornwall
This "wonderfully relaxing" Cornish farm is a "home from home". Users praised the "spotless" cottage and found borrowing stairgates, buggies and monitors allowed for light packing. The "warmest of welcomes" from owners Kevin and Mary made this a winning family holiday.

Winner: Feather Down Farms
A holiday of "magical memories", Feather Down Farms won plaudits for being "a great British holiday". Children "loved getting the eggs" fresh from the hens, and the tents with loos and running water were perfect for "those who shy away from real camping".

Winner: Duinrell, Wassenar, Holland
Everything you could want is on this campsite including a theme park, water park. Mumsnetters thought it a "great holiday for kids" with so much to do on site as well as great cycling to be had in the surrounding area. "Plenty to keep teenagers, toddlers and dads happy", raved one happy camper.

UK and Ireland destination spa

Winner: Ragdall Hall, Leicestershire
This olde-worlde spa won praise for its "lovely setting". The "all-singing, all-dancing" pool area was a hit with spa-goers while others enjoyed "wandering round in white, fluffy robes". The food was "surprisingly good" and the spa itself was judged to be "great for a girls' day out".

Winner: Snowfocus - Chalet La Sonnaille,
Anyone looking for a family ski holiday should try this "wonderful chalet" where head nanny Sue and her staff provide "fantastic" care. It's "a breath of fresh air after big name package holidays", and highlights included "drinking champagne in the jacuzzi after a hard day's skiing".

Overseas theme park

Winner: Disney's Animal Kingdom
A safari park where you're "almosr guaranteed to see lots of animals", and the highlights include "having dinner in the princess castle" where "you get to have you photo taken with Cinderella". Users said the food was "also great" and the parade and fireworks were "fantastic".

Winner: Outwell Montana 6
Outwell's six man tent is "spacious and easy to set up" according to Mumsnetters who liked the interior pockets which were "handy for storage", and the "integral insect nets". There was special mention for the handy demo video on youtube showing how to put it up.
