Direct Line additional terms and conditions

  1. The following people are not eligible to enter the competition: i. Employees of Direct Line and their respective subsidiaries and associated companies. ii. Immediate family members of Direct Line employees or members of their household.
  2. There will be one overall winner picked by Direct Line
  3. The overall winner’s prize will consist of £3,000 of vouchers from The Virgin Voucher company to be used by the overall winner to purchase a Virgin Holidays holiday package.
  4. The vouchers will be available to spend for up to a period of 1 year (12 calendar months) from the date of purchase. The date to which each voucher is valid is printed on it. The voucher cannot be used after this date.
  5. We will send your vouchers by secure post or courier. We will endeavour to deliver the vouchers within 3 working days from acceptance of your order, but time of delivery will not be of the essence and we will not be liable for any delay in delivery or losses arising from such delay.
  6. Upon delivery, you must examine the vouchers and give immediate written notice to us of any damage, defect or shortage. If large denomination vouchers subsequently require changing into smaller denominations an administration charge may be payable.
  7. Vouchers can be exchanged for a holiday through Virgin Holidays or a variety of goods or services that may vary from time to time. Current suppliers are shown at www.thevirginvoucher.co.uk and a list (correct at time of printing) is enclosed with the vouchers. The Virgin Voucher and Direct Line (TVV) does not make or give any promises, warranties, guarantees or representations concerning the goods or services provided by these suppliers.
  8. Vouchers cannot be replaced if lost, stolen or damaged. If you need to send them to a supplier we strongly recommend that you use a secure service. To be valid when presented for exchange, vouchers must be complete and the perforations must be unbroken.
  9. Travel/holiday products purchased in exchange for vouchers are only covered by the ABTA financial protection scheme once vouchers have been redeemed against a specific booking.
  10. Vouchers cannot be refunded or exchanged for cash or other denominated vouchers. If an intended purchase is for a higher amount than the face value of the voucher(s), the difference can be made up with cash. If a purchase is for a lower amount, no change can be given. Vouchers cannot be used in conjunction with any special promotions, offers, discount tokens, coupons or cards.
  11. The Virgin Voucher can only be redeemed through Virgin Holidays on the telephone number provided.
  12. Before booking please note you MUST call and speak to an operator on 0844 557 3901 and explain you want to use Virgin Vouchers.
  13. You will be unable to redeem Virgin Vouchers for bookings made online.
  14. Once you have received the vouchers they are your responsibility.
  15. Be prepared to quote your Virgin Vouchers numbers when booking. A credit card number may be required to hold your booking until your Virgin Vouchers are received.
  16. For late bookings and some deposits, payment may be taken from your credit card.
  17. Print and sign your name, departure date, destination and booking reference on the reverse of the vouchers.
  18. Unsigned vouchers cannot be accepted and will be returned.
  19. It is important that both parts of the voucher, including the stub, are sent in.
  20. You should keep a note of the voucher numbers before sending them by secure post.
  21. All travel is subject to Virgin Holidays standard terms and conditions.

  23. The prize must be accepted as awarded and are non-transferable. There is no cash alternative. If, due to circumstances beyond our control, we are unable to provide the stated prize, we reserve the right to award a substitute prize of equal or greater value.
  24. Mumsnet/Direct Line will notify the winner by email and then by telephone.
  25. Direct Line assumes that by entering the competition you have the legal capacity to do so and agree to these terms and conditions.
  26. We reserve the right to select an alternative winner in the event that we have reasonable grounds for believing that a winner has contravened any of these Terms and Conditions.
  27. The closing date for the competition, unless otherwise stated, is Sunday 4th May 2014.
