And the winner of the Barclays Mini Masterpiece is…

So, the moment has finally arrived! We've found the winner of the Barclays Mini Masterpiece 2012. We had loads of fantastic entries and ended up with a brilliant, colourful, diverse shortlist, and two judges with a tough job on their hands.

Mumsnet's Carrie Longton and Lauren Child, creator of Charlie and Lola (among others!), had the unenviable task of deciding which of your fabulous entries most deserved to win the star prize of a family holiday worth £2,000, lots of arty goodies and signed copies of Lauren's brilliant books.

They were choosing between everything from meticulously-painted puppy dogs, to scraps of silk stuck together artfully, with a few rather fab aliens and butterflies thrown in, and we can tell you, it was not easy. Cries of "I love that one" and "What a beautiful painting" echoed round the exhibition of the shortlisted entries, where our judges were making their decision, but finally they narrowed it down.

You can watch our expert judges choosing between all the shortlisted entries in the video above, and see why it was such a tough decision.

The winner

We now have a final list of 20 runners up and one winner; Jemima, aged 8. The judges loved her great use of colour and the lifelike drawing of her swan, which they said, "worked brilliantly on a debit card." Congratulations, Jemima!

You've probably seen that you can now personalise your Barclays Debit Card for free with your favourite picture or choose an image from the Barclays Personalised Card gallery. Jemima’s winning entry and the runner up entries will now all be available in the gallery, for you to use to personalise your Barclays debit card now for free. Or why not try some of your child’s artwork?
Thank you all for your entries, look out for next Barclays Mini Masterpiece Competition!
