Phonics and reading follow-up

 

We've added to our phonics pages with an update on the the Year 1 phonics screening check.

We've also looked at the revised Ofsted arrangements and the fact that inspectors will look more closely at reading, and at phonics in particular.

Reading for pleasure is an important initiative in schools and in the spirit of getting children excited about reading we've also added four new ebooks for KS2 children to our Learn at Home Zone.
