Does my child's nursery use the EYFS curriculum?

Play and learningAll children in England who go to nurseries, pre-schools and reception classes will be following a curriculum called the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).

Children who are with registered childminders will also be doing the EYFS curriculum. Remember though, that this is a play-based curriculum, so your child will be learning mainly through play and traditional activities such as cooking or having stories read to them.

What is play-based learning?

For many years, it has been recognised that when children play, they are actually learning. Play seems to be a practical way of helping children to develop skills and knowledge.
