Ingredients

  • 1 onion, sliced

  • 1 handful spinach, coarsely chopped

  • 1 tbsp garam masala

  • 3 tbsp yoghurt

  • 230g gram flour

  • 1 fresh chillies, (to taste)

  • 1 potatoes, peeled and grated

Method

  1. Mix all the ingredients in a bowl. Add water until you get a consistency that is quite loose but firm enough to form into a ball.
  2. Heat oil until very hot and carefully put in a ball at a time. Turn occasionally until cooked and remove onto kitchen paper to absorb excess oil.
  3. Eat hot with chutney or mint sauce mixed with yoghurt. Easy and quick!

    I made these to take to a friend's party, I was quite nervous as had never attempted anything like it before, but the turned out great and everyone seemed to enjoy them.

    Can be dairy free if you don't add yoghurt.
