Prawns in tomato sauce

  • 1 onion, chopped

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 tin chopped tomato

  • 2 tsp white sugar

  • 1 clove garlic, chopped

  • 225g prawns, cooked

  • 1 pinch chilli powder, to taste


  1. Fry the onion and garlic in the olive oil until soft and turning brown.
  2. Add the tomatoes and stir, then add seasoning and the sugar. You can also add a little chilli powder if you like.
  3. Bring to the boil and simmer for 10 minutes until reduced, then add the prawns and heat gently.
  4. Serve with plain rice.
