Lime and chocolate drizzle cake

Ingredients

  • 12oz self-raising flour

  • 9oz butter

  • 6 tbsp milk

  • 3 tsp baking powder, level

  • 9oz sugar

  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder

  • 4 eggs

  • 2 limes, rind grated

Method

  1. Mix all the ingredients together and put into a lined tray.
  2. Bake for about 30-40 mins (or until a knife comes out clean).
  3. Prick cake with a fork and pour over some warm lime juice.

Handy Hint

For added chocolateyness, you can melt a chocolate bar and pour over the top of the cake.

    I made this for my daughter's birthday. It was good! I needed an extra egg though and baked it in a deep tin so it took longer. DD loved it as did the adults but some of the kids found it too tangy. Have just made it again but with orange instead of lime...is still tasty but not as good as the lime version
