  • 100g icing sugar

  • 1 tsp baking powder

  • 2 tbsp golden syrup

  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon

  • 2 tsp ground ginger

  • 1 eggs

  • 175g mixed brown and white sugar

  • 1 box writing icing

  • 350g plain flour

  • 100g butter cold

  • 1 lemon juice


<ol> <li>Heat oven to 180C and line two baking trays.</li> <li>Mix flour, spices and baking powder.</li> <li>Rub in the butter till the mixture looks like breadcrumbs.</li> <li>Stir in sugar.</li> <li>Mix in egg and syrup.</li> <li>Squeeze into dough, roll out and cut into house shapes.</li> <li>Bake for 10-15 minutes until golden brown.</li> <li>Leave to cool a little then transfer on to wire rack.</li> <li>When cool, cover some of the biscuits in white icing (mix icing sugar with a little lemon juice).</li> <li>Then, add roofs, windows and doors using writing icing.</li> </ol>

Handy Hint

<p>Make sure the white icing is completely dry before going over it.</p>
