Ingredients

  • 4oz self-raising flour

  • 1/2 tsp baking powder

  • 2oz sugar, brown or demerara

  • 1 tbsp cocoa powder, if required

  • 2 eggs

  • 2 bananas, brown or old

  • 4oz butter, soft

  • 1 handful walnuts

Method

  1. Put all the ingredients together in a food mixer and mix!
  2. Put the mix into a buttered (and lined with baking sheet if you have time) tin (square or oblong is better than round).
  3. Bake in pre-heated oven at 180C for 30 minutes (or until a knife comes out clean from the centre).

Handy Hint

Takes a bit longer than a usual 2 egg cake because of the banana.

    Very easy and yummy cake but it took FAR longer than the 30 minutes, mine took about 50.

    Just made this on whim after reading the recipe, it is so easy and I had everything in my v.bare cupboard! Made individual cakes rather than a big one, just baked them for 10-15 mins instead
