Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp tomato puree

  • 1 red onion, (small)

  • 50g cheese

  • 1 clove garlic, crushed

  • 1 peppers, (for the topping - also can use cherry tomatoes, sweetcorn, olives etc)

  • 1 small red onion

  • 1 tsp ketchup

  • 1 tbsp hot water

  • 2 pitta breads, (smell and round)

Method

  1. Chop and fry the onion, add the garlic and cook for 1 minute then stir in the puree, ketchup and water.
  2. Split the pitas in half and toast lightly then divide the tomato base between the pittas and spread right to the edges.
  3. Grate the cheese and sprinkle on top of the pittas.
  4. Choose your favourite toppings, pop on top of the pittas, we usually make them into funny faces.
  5. Grill for 1-2 minutes until the cheese has melted.
