  • 1 onion, chopped

  • 3 tbsp tomato puree

  • 2 tbsp oil

  • 4 tbsp sugar

  • 1 red pepper, chopped

  • 1 courgette, or broccoli, mini-corn, etc.

  • 2 tbsp white wine vinegar, or lemon juice

  • 2 tbsp soy sauce

  • 450g meat

  • 450g pork, or chicken, cubed

  • 2 carrot, chopped

  • 1 tin pineapple

  • 200g rice, or, even easier, stir fry noodles

  1. Fry the meat in very hot oil.
  2. Add onion and leave until soft (5 mins).
  3. Add chopped vegetables, soy sauce, sugar, vinegar, tomato puree and the juice of the pineapple, and cook for 5 mins.
  4. Serve with boiled/steamed rice or stir fry noodles.

Handy Hint

You can use left-over Sunday roast cut into strips or cubes as the source of meat: we did this this evening in the honneybunny house> sweet and sour pork with amoy (1 minute) stir fry noodles. Quick and easy!
