Ingredients

  • 3 tsp salt

  • 3 tsp white sugar

  • 1 bunch of spring onions

  • 1 round lettuce

  • 900g frozen peas

  • 80g butter, (roughly)

Method

  1. Chop lettuce and onions & divide roughly into 3 piles.
  2. In casserole dish with lid (or ovenproof bowl with tight foil) put layer of onion/lettuce.
  3. Dot with little nobs of butter
  4. Add 1 tsp salt +1 tsp sugar
  5. Add half frozen peas
  6. Repeat layer of lettuce/onion/salt/sugar/butter
  7. Add other half peas
  8. Add final layer of lettuce/onion/butter/sugar salt
  9. Cook around 3 hours at 120C, stirring once or twice.
  10. Fine to cook in advance & reheat, or keep warm
