Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder

  • 150g sugar

  • 2 tbsp golden syrup

  • 225g flour

  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder

  • 150g coconut

  • 175g butter

  • 3 tbsp chocolate icing

Method

  1. Melt butter, sugar, syrup and cocoa in a saucepan. Mix in flour, baking powder and coconut.
  2. Mix well and put in a 20 x 30 cm tin.
  3. Bake for 15 minutes at 170C on fan.
  4. Ice with chocolate icing while it is still warm and soon as the icing is hard enough and while slice is still warm cut it into squares.
  5. Leave in the tin until cool. Often I sprinkle the wet icing with coconut.
