4 tbsp golden syrup
4 tsp water
140g butter or margarine
280g rolled oats
- Put butter, sugar, water and syrup into a saucepan.
- Heat over a gentle heat until sugar is dissolved.
- Add the oats and stir well.
- Put into a 9inch square tin (greased).
- Bake for 20 minutes at 175C (150C if fan oven).
- Allow to cool a bit. Cut into rectangles while still warm then allow to cool fully.
Baking parchment can help prevent sticking to the tin.
