  • 140g self-raising flour

  • 3 tsp cinnamon

  • 200g soft brown sugar

  • 170g oats

  • 2 apples sliced

  • 230g butter


<ol> <li>Preheat oven to 190C/Gas Mark 4.</li> <li>Melt butter and sugar.</li> <li>Add flour, oats and cinnamon and mix well.</li> <li>Lay half the mixture in a well greased baking tin.</li> <li>Add the sliced raw apple or pear as a layer on top of this.</li> <li>Cover with the rest of the oats mixture.</li> <li>Put in the oven for 25-30 minutes.</li> </ol>

    Quite cakey for a flapjack, never done a flapjack with flour before but v yummy and ideal for lunchboxes Just made one with chopped dried apricots as the middle layer, and flaked almonds scattered on the top. Think I'll be trying a mincemeat middle nearer Christmas :)

    It would be nut free if you could guarantee the oats were nut free.
