Ingredients

  • 1 onion, diced as small as poss

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1/4 tsp ground allspice

  • 1 tin chopped tomato

  • 2 tsp mustard powder

  • 1 bay leaves

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 100g light molasses

  • 2 tins white beans, drained and rinsed

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 180C.
  2. Preheat medium oven-safe pot over medium heat, saute onions in the oil for about 10 minutes until a bit browned.
  3. Add garlic, saute for another minute.
  4. Add tomato sauce, molasses, mustard, salt, allspice, and bay leaf, and cook for about 5 minutes.
  5. Add the beans, cover the pot and transfer to oven for an hour, stir once about 30 minutes into baking.
  6. Keep warm until ready to serve.

    Yummy! Used a little bit of sugar instead of molasses. DH and 6 month old dd loved this.
