  • 175g self-raising flour

  • 75g caster sugar

  • 1 pinch salt

  • 1 tsp almond essence

  • 50g ground almonds

  • 150g margarine

  • 1 handful blanched almonds


<ol> <li>Preheat the oven to 180C/Gas Mark 4. Grease two baking trays.</li> <li>Mix together the dry ingredients, rub in the margarine.</li> <li>Add the essence and mix well, bring together using your hands.</li> <li>Roll out thinly and cut into rounds. Place half a blanched almond on each.</li> <li>Place on a baking tray and bake for 15 minutes.</li> </ol>
