  • 75g self-raising flour

  • 1/4 pints milk

  • 1 splash double cream

  • 1 pinch salt

  • 1 eggs

  • 50g butter

  • 1 tsp butter


<ol> <li>Mix everything with electric whizzy thing.</li> <li>Heat pan with a little olive oil.</li> <li>Pour in mix in little 5cm-7cm (2-3&rdquo;) blobs.</li> <li>Cook both sides for about 60 seconds, eat straight away.</li> </ol>

Handy Hint

<p>Kids love them and they really cheer everyone on a cold 'what's for dinner' night. Often do the kids' initials.</p>

    These are easy to make and you can get away without adding the cream. I think the pinch of butter in the ingredients is a mistake - you can use this instead of the olive oil for frying, or else omit. Drop scones are nice spread with either cream and jam, with marmite, or just by themselves.
