Ingredients

  • 1 tamari, this is superior to soy sauce and expensive, but worth it

  • 200g smoked tofu, drained, dried and thinly sliced

Method

  1. Put the tofu slices in a plastic box and pour over enough tamari sauce to cover. Give it a shake and leave in the fridge for an hour.
  2. Fish out the slices and shallow fry to taste, you can get it quite crispy if you like it that way.

Handy Hint

The longer you can marinade the tofu, the better it will be. Great for a veggie BLT.

    ps - forgot to say- of course you can keep the left over tamari in the box and either use it for more tofu or in another dish- don't throw it away!

    high in protein and calcium- for those who still miss bacon....not one for meat eaters, though.
