Ingredients

  • 250g caster sugar

  • 2 tsp baking powder

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1 tbsp orange juice

  • 2 1/2 tsp orange zest

  • 2 eggs, beaten

  • 450g plain flour

  • 150g butter, room temperature

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 190C/Gas Mark 5.
  2. In a large bowl, cream the sugar and butter.
  3. Beat in the eggs.
  4. Stir in the flour, baking powder and salt until well blended.
  5. Mix in the orange juice and zest.
  6. Roll out the dough to a 5mm thickness (on a lightly floured surface).
  7. Cut out shapes with Easter biscuit cutters.
  8. Place on baking tray.
  9. Bake in preheated oven for 8-10 minutes.
  10. When cold, ice and decorate as desired.
