Slow cooker beef stroganoff

  • 1 onion sliced or chopped

  • 1 tbsp double cream

  • 1 tbsp paprika

  • 1 splash red wine or water

  • 2 cloves garlic crushed

  • 250g beef cubed

  • 1 handful mushrooms sliced

  • 1 splash brandy optional

  • 2 handfuls vegetables of your choice


<ol> <li>Bung everything in the slow cooker except for the cream. Give it a stir.</li> <li>Cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4 hours.</li> <li>When cooked, the meat should be tender and falling apart, add the double cream according to taste and stir.</li> <li>Serve with pasta, rice or mashed potatoes.</li> </ol>

Handy Hint

<p>This is completely adaptable to whatever veg you've got in the fridge and great for cheap cuts of meat. A bit of Marmite really amps up the meatiness too.</p>
