Ingredients

  • 1 onion sliced or chopped

  • 1 tbsp double cream

  • 1 tbsp paprika

  • 1 splash red wine or water

  • 2 cloves garlic crushed

  • 250g beef cubed

  • 1 handful mushrooms sliced

  • 1 splash brandy optional

  • 2 handfuls vegetables of your choice

Method

  1. Bung everything in the slow cooker except for the cream. Give it a stir.
  2. Cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4 hours.
  3. When cooked, the meat should be tender and falling apart, add the double cream according to taste and stir.
  4. Serve with pasta, rice or mashed potatoes.

Handy Hint

This is completely adaptable to whatever veg you've got in the fridge and great for cheap cuts of meat. A bit of Marmite really amps up the meatiness too.
