  • 1 onion medium, chopped

  • 2 tbsp flour

  • 1 tin chopped tomato

  • 500g minced beef 90% lean

  • 1 clove garlic minced

  • 6 potatoes medium; unpeeled, sliced

  • 1 tin kidney beans


  1. In a heavy-based frying pan over medium-high heat, brown minced beef, rinse with hot water and drain.
  2. Mix flour into diced tomatoes, stir until flour is smooth.
  3. Layer into slow cooker in the following order: onion, beef, potatoes, garlic and beans.
  4. Pour tomatoes over all and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 5 to 6 hours or until potatoes are tender.
