PZ Cussons - a Family Friendly company
This is what PZ Cussons has to say about the Mumsnet Family Friendly programme:
PZ Cussons was founded over 125 years ago as a family business. With the founding family still holding majority shares, Family Values remain at the heart of our products and culture.
We are the makers of some of the most well known family personal and home care brands in the UK including Imperial Leather, Carex and Original Source. The group also includes PZC Beauty incorporating The Sanctuary Spa, Charles Worthington and St Tropez for those pampering hair, face and body treats that we all deserve.
We moved to our new Manchester headquarters in 2010 and with this move we aimed to re-enforce our approach to health, well being and work/life balance. We believe flexible working is important in today’s increasingly challenging balance of work, personal and family demands and we give our employees the freedom to make sensible decisions about their working day which results in the best outcome for the company and the employee with their individual circumstances. We also introduced a brand new fitness centre, games zone and several relaxation areas to make time at work as stress free and productive as possible.
We are proud of our community partnerships with organisations that match our own values and in particular in the UK, have a focus on education. We support the Halle orchestra’s education programme, providing the opportunity for children to develop skills through music. We also have a strong relationship with the Seashell Trust and working with our fragrance business Seven, are developing groundbreaking techniques using scent to help young people with severe communication challenges. “Hand’s up for Hygiene” is our Carex branded schools education programme, taking a unique style of science lesson to schools, teaching children about the importance of hand hygiene in a fun and interactive format.
These are just a few examples and we encourage our employees to actively participate as part of our practical approach and for employees’ own interest, work/life balance and personal development. In our recent employee opinion survey, three quarters of our UK employees told us that they were satisfied with their well-being and work/life balance. While this is in line with UK norms, we are still working on making improvements and that is why we are excited about the opportunity to partner with Mumsnet’s Family Friendly programme to ensure we continue to fully support our talented current and future employees and their families, as well as education in the community.”
