BT is delighted to be continuing to work with Mumsnet and be part of the Family Friendly programme.
Family Friendly things you didn't know about BT
1. Family and You Portal
We have created a One Stop Shop Family and You Portal to enable employees to easily access help and support.
It provides all the details of BT's family friendly policies and practices, whether you are a parent, grandparent, carer or young adult.
eg Our IVF and premature baby guidance have been produced with the help of BT employees.
The more we can do to support our people to achieve a comfortable balance, we know that we are more likely to:

Support our employees personal lives by providing assistance on a variety of things including:

As well as valuing the importance of being family friendly to our employees, we also understand that this is important to our customers, so BT has created an array of Family Friendly products to help you and your family.
2. Blocking nuisance calls
Nuisance calls can be an almost daily disruption and can turn a ringing phone into a source of stress and anxiety. Our new home phone, the BT 6500 Nuisance Call Blocker, can help put a stop to this. The majority of nuisance calls come from International or Unknown caller IDs, which can be easily blocked by this phone. You, can block specific numbers that you don't want to hear from again. Simply activate the caller display service on your BT account, set which types of call you want to block and get ready to relax when the phone rings, knowing it should be someone you do want to speak to.
The phone is also packed with other great features such as built-in parental controls which allow you to control different types of outgoing calls, such as mobile or premium rate calls using a PIN on the handset, avoiding any nasty surprises on your bill.
3. Baby Monitors
BT has been the number one bestselling audio baby monitor brand in the UK for the last three years. We've won various awards including:

Not only do we develop products with you, our customers, in mind, we also work directly with you to make sure our products deliver what you want. We have developed great features based around parents' insight including:
- Temperature changing night lights
- Projected light show
- MP3 input into the BT Pacifier Baby Monitor
4. Family Protection - powered by McAfee
Keeping your family safe is important to BT. We have teamed up with McAfee to bring our customers a Family Protection software product to provide a safe browsing environment for families – especially children. It gives you with varying levels of parental control protection, depending on your families' needs.
5. BT in the community
BT has a long history of working with good causes to improve people's lives.
BT enables its employees to undertake up to three days of community/charitable work per year during working hours.
We recognise that volunteering allows staff to:
- Learn new skills
- Pass on valuable experience
It benefits not only our people, but communities, charity partners and our company. Last year, BT employees spent 43,600 days in the community – worth an estimated £13m of in kind support.
6. The Supporters Clubs
We have recently launched The Supporters Club – an exciting charity initiative from BT, our BT Sport Partners and Comic Relief. It is dedicated to using the power of sport to help disadvantaged young people, both in the UK and around the world.
The money raised will be used to fund coaches, mentors and teachers these young people need to help them fulfil their potential. It is all about supporting the supporters.
BT Sport customers can make a recurring £1, £3 or £5 donation through their bill each month – it is easy to set up and hassle free. Not only will BT match every £1 donated, up to £1 million, we are also donating £500,000 through various initiatives. In addition, we are covering the running costs of the fund, so that 100% of the donations go straight to The Supporter Club – managed by Comic Relief.
