BT - a Family Friendly company

This is what BT has to say about the Mumsnet Family Friendly programme:
BT recognises that people need to balance their work responsibilities with those that they have in their personal lives, be this childcare, managing pregnancy, maternity or paternity, disability or chronic illness or wider caring needs. The more we can do to support our people to achieve a comfortable balance we know that we are more likely to attract and retain the best talent, engage our people and improve our employer brand and the productivity of our workforce.
We have created a One Stop Shop - Family and You Portal - to enable employees to easily access help and support. It provides all the details of BT's Family Friendly policies and practices, whether you are a parent, a grandparent, carer or young adult. As an example, both IVF and premature baby guidance have been produced with the help of BT employees.
BT’s support extends to our customers with families too. Our free Family Protection software helps keep families, and especially children safe when they are using the internet, with a range of parental controls. BT commissioned research to understand how families are interacting with technology and how it was affecting their lives. If your family’s technology addiction is worse than you thought all is not lost. To help adults and children maintain a ‘Balanced Communications Diet’, BT has identified a ‘five a day’ set of recommendations.
We are proud to have supported ChildLine since it was founded in 1986, and have raised over £10 million for their cause. In summer 2011 we donated a sum for every award-winning baby monitor we sold, as well as including awareness-raising leaflets about ChildLine and the NSPCC in each monitor’s box. In 2012 once again, BT actively supported the NSPCC annual Letter from Santa campaign.
We are delighted to be continuing to work with Mumsnet and be part of the Family Friendly programme.
