General Practitioner Dr Pixie McKenna is best known for her role in Channel 4’s primetime, BAFTA-winning medical series Embarrassing Bodies and Channel 4’s Food Hospital, and for her regular appearances on programmes as varied as Celebrity Mastermind and This Morning.
When not busy filming, Pixie spends her spare time writing columns for the Irish Mail, Mizz, Zest and Best magazines. She also hosts the weekly ‘Air your Ailments’ slot on Ireland’s Today FM. Spare time is currently in short supply, however - Pixie gave birth to her first child earlier this year.
Jenny Fraser has a wealth of experience as a clinical midwife specialising in risk management - and also as an independent midwife working directly with new families.
Throughout her career Jenny has worked resolutely to normalise birth, and to empower women to have the safe birth that they want - frequently challenging practices that she believed were not in the best interests of women. She believes that every woman deserves sensitivity and respect, and is a trustee for the Birthrights charity, one of whose aims is to promote dignity in maternity services.
Penelope Leach is a research psychologist specialising in child development, as well as a passionate advocate for parents, a mother of two and a grandmother of six.
One of the world's most respected parenting voices, Penelope is best known for her book "Your Baby and Child" - a world bestseller for twenty five years. A new edition was published by Dorling Kindersley in 2010, as was a new book, "The Essential First Year: What Babies Need Parents to Know".
She's a Fellow of the British Psychological Society, a visiting professor at the University of Winchester and Hon. Senior Research Fellow at the Tavistock Clinic and at the Centre for the Study of Children, Families and Social Issues, Birkbeck.
The British Red Cross want you to feel confident about first aid. Tracey Taylor will be providing practical first aid advice and helping parents choose how they will learn baby and child first aid.
Tracey is part of the product development team for first aid education as well as a mum of two young boys so brings a wealth of experience.
Andrea is a health visitor, nurse and mental health nurse, the mother of four children, and author of “Gentle Sleep Solutions” [Hodder 2012]. She specialises in gentle, child-centred techniques which respect the values and parenting styles of each individual child and family. A leading authority in her field, she's frequently seen on TV and in the press.
Olivia Robinson is the Creative, Brand and Marketing Director of Mamas and Papas. She is the youngest daughter of David and Luisa, the founders of Mamas & Papas. Living and breathing the brand while juggling a busy family life, Olivia has 2 young children but still manages to deliver on brand, creative collateral while managing a team of over 30 people.
Olivia worked her way up through the Mamas & Papas business, beginning in store to gain a clear understanding of customer needs, she then worked in product design and development enabling her to get to know the products inside and out. Olivia’s natural, creative flair makes her perfect for the role of Creative, Brand & Marketing Director and along the way Olivia has developed a keen eye for design details, this runs through everything that the creative and marketing teams deliver at head office and makes the brand what it is today.
