We bought an Alhambra to replace our elderly Toyota Previa.
The Alhambra is actually longer and wider ( but not taller) than the Previa but seems smaller so far. We have 4 kids so took one of the seats out of our old car to make space for the dogs, but this is not possible in this car. The seats do fold into the floor quite easily but I do have to set up the car each time I have a new mix of people/dogs to drive around, which takes time.
Good points are the backing camera and sliding doors. The kids like that the doors are electric but there is arguing over who pushed the button last time!
I also like the parking beeper that tells me if I'm too close at the front as well.
It is really comfortable to drive although there seems to be a delay on acceleration.
I like that the lights turn on automatically, and there are heated seats which will be lovely in winter. And I really like the little chart that tells me who has put their seat belts onsmile
I'm not sure about the diesel engine. We actually wanted petrol but they don't make petrol automatics anymore and we REALLY wanted an automatic. I don't like the stop start function but you can turn it off.
All in all this is a good car for our family as the back seats are still big enough for our adult sized teens. We haven't had 6 people and 2 dogs in it yet, but we are not going to need to do that too often I hope, as it will require some planning!
We are taking it on holiday with us to Ireland for the summer so it'll be interesting to see how it copes with a road trip.

    "Perfect family car"

The 5 + 2 configuration is so easy, rear seats pull up easily and fit right up to small adults. Boot is huge when rear seats are folded away, my 2 dogs live in luxury. My kids (plus all visiting kids) love the push button doors and on a windy day or a tight space they are a godsend. Feels reasonably "lux" inside and very nice to drive. It might not win speed races or snowy day races but for about town driving with a lot of kids, dogs and kit, you can't beat it.

    "Fantastic Family car for 5"

I spent ages looking for a car that would comfortably fit 5 with three car seats. I loved my multimac but it was time to move on!
This is big and the boot is huge - or when we have friends or the MIL the extra seats in the boot are great; large enough for adults with reasonable leg room.
The mpg is the second reason I bought - we have had a 52mpg average on a long run compared to other mpvs that boast 37 as top.
The third reason was the sliding doors! The children can get out easily in tight spaces without clonking other cars and I can get to them to clip in their car seats with out being a contortionist.
As for driving, I m no petrol head, but I love it. It's smooth, quiet and has enough grunt to feel comfortable on the motorway.
Can't say how happy I am with this purchase !.
