Monstrous Maud: Big Fright giveaway
This monstrously fun new series is aimed at readers aged 5+, and will probably appeal more to girls than boys. We have 50 copies to give away.
When Maud's pet rat, Quentin, escapes in the middle of science class, it's the very last straw. Maud is transferred from Primrose Towers to Rotwood Middle School - to the delight of her teacher, classmates and her perfect twin, Milly - but what is in store at Rotwood? There's something strange about the pupils of Rotwood - everyone's dressed as though it's Halloween and the school's motto is 'Because We Scare'. It turns out that Rotwood is a school for monsters, and Maud must convince the staff and pupils that she's monstrous enough to join them.
There are six books so far in the series: Big Fright, Spooky Sports Day, School Scare, Freaky Sleepover, Scary Show, and Horror Holiday. The author A. B. Saddlewick has also written other award-winning stories for children and teens under the name Tim Collins, including the Diary of a Wimpy Vampire series and Dorkius Maximus.
"Monstrous Maud's Big Fright is well written, interesting and exciting, with enough new vocabulary to be educational, but also enough meat to keep my daughter hooked." "It's quirky, warm and funny." "An easy to read book that my granddaughter devoured in one sitting – a fun book with a brilliant storyline which in my eyes equals Horrid Henry." Amazon reviewers
