I think at the last count I have burst into tears 8 times in 24 hours grin

My kids keep patting me on the arm in a sypathetic but confused kind of way!

Just me then - or everyone else has gone to bed?

Hi,

Dont worry - you're normal! From 16 - 20 weeks i was so so so miserable. I sobbed all day at work and everything - no real reason, just didnt wanna go anywhere or do anything. Was sick of everyone saying "dont worry, it'll disappear soon, it is hormones" and it didnt help but honestly, i was driving home from work one day and i felt like a weight had lifted. Within a couple of days i was back to my old self!!!!!

Keep plodding on!

Thanks - I don't remember being this weepy with my 1st 2. Maybe I wasn't so tired then.

Tiredness doesnt help no. However i think it just depends on how your body is coping with the pregnancy. My midwife told me its because your placenta is maturing and therefore you're pumping extra hormones round to do it.

I was so miserable i even went to see my doctor - was petrified i was depressed or something. He took me seriously but just said "if i had a penny for every woman who comes in here asking this, i'd be rich". I thought to myself that this couldnt be normal, yeh the books you read say you might get a bit emotional and snappy but i was beyond the books description! He told me to monitor it for 4 weeks (i was 18 weeks by this stage) and as i say 2 weeks later i was fine.

It was freaky!

Links The simplest way to insert a link is to enter the web address (URL) surrounded by [[ and ]]. So type [[http://www.mumsnet.com]] to display a link like www.mumsnet.com. If you want your link to display text other than the web address itself, leave a space after the address then add the text before the ]]. So "Look at [[www.mumsnet.com this page]]", would display "Look at this page."
