Not terribly impressed with Bosch ovens. Have one that came with this house and bits keep falling off (it is about 5 years old).

I thought Bosch appliances came up well on the which? surveys ...

Saying that, I suppose it is all down to budget and what suits your lifestyle.

I would go for the best, simpler funtioning - reasoning is that there is really less to go wrong ...

There's one with 6000 washing machines but only a couple of oven. The oven is the big one for me tbh. I hate my current one and really want one that I'm happy with. Not sure even what to look for, except to be sure it isn't anything like what I've got now.

Would like one that's easy to clean. Dunno what the best option is.

I love our oven, it's electric with a gas hob and the oven part cooks really evenly. It's a cheap-ass one that was already in our house when we moved - think it's Hygena? But it's great.

We've got miele dishwasher and tumble drier. The tumble drier is good in that it just dries til the stuff is dry and then stops, but it dings an alarm to say it's finished and it's REALLY annoying - you can probably disable it but we've moved house a zillion times and can't find the manual. Also had a few issues with the door seal on it. Think there are probably better tumble driers to be honest, and it pains me to say that cos I am a Miele devotee, but...

Miele dishwasher is good. I loathe cutlery baskets, so we've got the Miele with the cutlery tray which is so much more civilised!

I've got a Hotpoint washing machine and dryer I like both of them, Bosch fridge like that too, shit cooker but I can't remember what it is.

Why don't you get a trial subscription to the Which? website - they thoroughly test all of these type of appliances.

The trouble with recommending a particular brand is some models will be great and some will be, well, a bit crap.

John Lewis steam oven. Self cleans - works quite well so long as you don't leave it too long between cleans. Has lots of different programs. Heats to 200 in just a couple of minutes. You can cook conventionally, fan, steam, intermittent steam, bottom heat, grill etc etc.

Bosche logix fridge because you can pull the shelves out and don't have food decomposing/ freezing lost at the back of a packed shelf.

Big drum washing machine. You can fit many in a standard slot, most have a half wash option, saves doing lots of loads one after another.

Just had whole new kitchen and gone, Neff (mid range) for ovens, Stoves for gas hob and cooker hood, and Bosch dishwasher which is the quietest I have ever come across. I am totally in love with all of them, we've been in since christmas and everything has been so wonderful.

Also got Bosch washer and dryer and they have done over a years constant abuse (ds' x 3, rugby/football/surf club/swimming) without a moments complaint.

I spent weeks researching everything and went to appliances direct on the internet and got discount for buying more than one thing. HTH.

I?ve heard Neff mentioned a few times now for ovens. Hmm. Our kitchen will be fully planned and installed by a particular firm, but maybe I can either source my own appliances, or try to barter them down. Hope I can get a double oven over here. Anyone had a kitchen fitted before - do you usually just get all the appliances trough them, or is it ok to get your own. But then maybe they won't fit them when they're installing the kitchen?

Which subscription is a good idea (why didn't I think of that) but have already done it once, so dunno if they'll let me have a 2nd bash. Anyone know a way around this?

Do self cleaning ovens really clean themselves (feel ) is it not better to get an enamel one you can scrub down and know it's clean?

had neff oven in old house, was really good though didn't get that much use in my pre-kids days

have smeg dishwasher, fantastic and v quiet.

oh and i also have a miele plate warming drawer. now that is worth getting. fantastic! slots just under the oven, size of a drawer.

Our fitted kitchen company gave us the option of us sourcing appliances or them. We kept our red smeg fridge (dh bought it, I said no to the union jack one!) and really the kitchen was designed around it. They found us a great deal on a rangemaster -from sainsbury's - and I love it. Cooks well, cleans up brilliantly. We have a miele washing machine which I love but previously we had an aeg which was amazing, lasted 6 years but was on everyday.

Aeg tumble dryer and I would have another one again though dh wants to replace it with miele when it dies.

Don't have a dishwasher or microwave so can't help there.

I love my kitchen, it's my favourite room in our house and we designed it all from scratch as we took out the whole of the kitchen and utility.

Love that with using a company you can go back and ask them to replace, repair or change. I originally had a dishwasher but when it broke I had it taken out and a cupboard for shoes put in.

Am getting I've seen loads of neff/bosch/siemens/miele double ovens on UK sites, yet here in Germany, no sniff of a double oven. DOn't seem to exist.

I'm watching this thread as I have just had a litchen extension and need new appliances.

I hate my currrent oven it doesn't cook evenly and I don't like the internal grill, it is dangerous with young children.

The hob I want to be gas and they must be built in.

I'm also having a built in dishwasher (my first so advice on good makes would be appreciated.

I'm going to get an induction hob. The only appliance I currently have that I really like.

Don't get one of those American double door wardrobe type fridge freezers. I blummin hate mine.

Only just at the planning stage, but I couldn't get one in Switzerland, and I don't plan to move ever again, so want it all just right. My current pile of crap oven is evil, so have been dreaming of an oven for the last 2 years. Now I have the chance of getting my choice of oven, and feel robbed that it's widely available in UK but not at all apparently in Germany? grrr

I'm very happy with our whirlpool washing machine. It's our second and the first lasted over 8 years.

bibbity - yes we have one here, also not keen. Just getting a big built in fridge and maybe a freezer in the basement. I have no idea whatsoever how to get all the filthy handmarks of it - it is covered. I got some stainless steel cleaner and it hasn't made any different whatsoever. Every single appliance in this house is Siemens. I'll never buy another one on principle. Still, it's been a useful 2 year long exercise in what NOT to do or buy for my own home. Thank God I'm moving.
