Recipe of the week

smithy's roasted beetroot: low-fat, dairy-free, gluten-free, nut-free and generally nutritious and virtuous. This one-dish wonder is delicious and uses up some seasonal beets. What's not to like?

I am 35 (well, nearly 36 )
I have three children: ds1 is 5.5, dd is 3.4 and ds2 is 15 mos.
I live in a village on the edge of Dartmoor, Devon. We've lived here for nearly 5 years. Before that we were in London. Ds1 was born in Homerton Hospital, Hackney and I have a clipping from a newspaper from a few years ago about Homerton, which pointed out that it had the highest rate of patients with gunshot wounds in the UK. I'm saving it for the day that ds1 says "why did you move from London to the middle of nowhere?" Having said that, still love London and would love to visit more often than we do.

I am SAHM, treasurer for our local playgroup and generally busy with children, house and MN! What I would really like to do is write. Dh is a writer (historical biography) and works from home, so although he works long hours, we do get to see quite a lot of him, really! I'm currently on a bit of a health kick, so am attempting to eat well, I'm going to Pilates and am starting to go swimming.

Hi Ponygirl, Devon what a lovely place!

Yes I can see why you moved and just to tell you my BIL works near the homerton and it's still as bad as ever but the house prices are very high there- god knows why!

I would not live there if you paid me- dh was born there- not for me I'm afraid area is not what it used to be. Very wise move ! larsxx

Links The simplest way to insert a link is to enter the web address (URL) surrounded by [[ and ]]. So type [[http://www.mumsnet.com]] to display a link like www.mumsnet.com. If you want your link to display text other than the web address itself, leave a space after the address then add the text before the ]]. So "Look at [[www.mumsnet.com this page]]", would display "Look at this page."
