Winston’s Wish are an amazing charity who help bereaved children re-adjust to life after the death of a parent or sibling, offering practical support and guidance. Winston’s Wish have helped many families within our Woolly Hugs and Mumsnet communities, and we are very pleased to be able to do something to help them now.

Up and down the country, fabulous folk have been making small craft items which we will sell through our Facebook Event page. Come and join us!

fsmilefsmile

You can see photos of all the lovely things that will be on sale in our pre sale viewing albums here……

Album One Items 1 - 100

Album Two Items 101 - 200

Album Three, items 201+ is work in progress! Link very soon.

Our Sale takes place over the weekend starting Friday 6th December, starting at 10 am finishing on Sunday 8th

From 10am on Friday we are going to post batches of items on the wall, starting with the first 30 from Album One and work our way through. To buy an item, you will need to be the first to post your name next to the photo. We will then clearly be able to see who has bought, will thank you and ask you to PM us with the item number and a postal address. We can then arrange for payment with you. Ideally through PayPal, but cash or cheque payable to Woolly Hugs is fine too.

Do bear with us, we will acknowledge your purchase and reply to your PM asap!

So who has a chance of winning the Woolly Hug?

* Everyone who has made something for the Craft sale has been entered into the free Draw.
* Everyone who has contributed towards materials has been entered into the free Draw.
* Anyone who now buys something will be entered into the free Draw.

fsmilefsmilefsmilefsmilefsmilefsmilefsmile

Our Paypal is admin@woollyhugs.com

When paying for a purchase, please include a note with your name and the item number.

The randomly generated Draw for the Woolly Hug will be made after the Christmas Craft Sale, once all funds have cleared. We will announce the winner here, on our Event page, Facebook page (MNWoollyHugs) and Twitter (@MNWoollyHugs)

Craft items will be sent via second class post during the week beginning Monday 9th December, or if paying with a cheque, once funds have cleared. We will pay all money raised into the Winston’s Wish account within two weeks.

KnottyLocks Tue 03-Dec-13 15:54:31

But hang on, which robins are you talking about? No robins in the sale.

MrsKwazii Wed 04-Dec-13 16:51:20

How was today Pistey, with Debbie Bliss? Bet the competition blankets are gorgeous grin She seems lovely from her webchat, however, if she now swoops in and deprives me of my robins I will not be best pleased fwink

RatherBeOnThePiste Wed 04-Dec-13 17:11:31

T'was lovely, she's my new best friend <beams> We chatted knitting tips and techniques and I gave her my advice.

fgrin

<arf>

Actually she really was very lovely, funny and so modest, and was very interested in everything about Woolly Hugs, bless her.

One of the questions on the web chat asked if anyone made woolly things for her as gifts, and she said no one ever had. So I told her aaaalllllllllllll about the robins, well it seems such a shame that nobody seems to want to buy them....

fsad

MrsKwazii Wed 04-Dec-13 18:01:15

How could she fail to be interested in Woolly Hugs?! Bet it took quite a while to tell her about all the different strands (see what I did there fwink)

Maybe Debbie will buy Bobina who is also super-cute.

KnottyLocks Wed 04-Dec-13 18:43:37

What knitting advice did you give her, Pistey? smile

SoupDragon Wed 04-Dec-13 19:02:22

"Don't ask me to knit anything" perhaps? wink

Pistey, giving knitting advice! Isn't that like a nun writing the karma sutra!

KnottyLocks Wed 04-Dec-13 20:20:11

Interesting comparison, Fizzy <strokes chin>

Yeah! I thought it suited the situation!

KnottyAndPistey Fri 06-Dec-13 12:32:03

What bloody robins?!!!!

FunnyFestiveTableRunner Fri 06-Dec-13 12:36:01

Lovely idea, even if I can't quite figure out when items go live. Is it just when they go on the wall?

KnottyAndPistey Fri 06-Dec-13 12:37:28

It certainly is, when items go on the wall, they are live. The next batch of 20 items will be going on at 4.30

KnottyLocks Fri 06-Dec-13 12:37:29

Yes, we are posting them onto the wall in batches of 20. That's when you can buy them.

KnottyLocks Fri 06-Dec-13 12:56:57

We'll be starting from Lot 81. smile

FunnyFestiveTableRunner Fri 06-Dec-13 13:01:09

Thanks! thanks

MrsKwazii Fri 06-Dec-13 13:02:14

I plan to continue twittering on about my robins until you all capitulate and allow me to buy them just to shut me up. Youngest child syndrome innit <grin>

As an aside, autocorrect keeps trying to change 'innit' to 'I knit'. Which is beautifully appropriate <smile>

MrsKwazii Fri 06-Dec-13 13:04:11

Or fgrin and fsmile even

KnottyLocks Fri 06-Dec-13 13:06:45

We will not capitulate!

MrsKwazii Fri 06-Dec-13 13:19:29

Am vair excited!

RatherBeOnThePiste Fri 06-Dec-13 13:22:34

I am meaning knitting. Think you are too <beams>

RatherBeOnThePiste Fri 06-Dec-13 13:23:10

Can't wait fsmile

MrsKwazii Fri 06-Dec-13 13:29:43

I think crochet would be more up my street tbh fwink We'll see .......

KnottyLocks Fri 06-Dec-13 13:51:03

Oooooooooooooooooooooo

SoupDragon Fri 06-Dec-13 14:34:02

Do you think you are more of a Hooker then?

MrsKwazii Fri 06-Dec-13 14:54:48

What are you saying, like?! fgrin

My knitting attempts over the years have been pitiful. I'd hope that any crochet experimentation would be of a better standard - although the bar is so low, that wouldn't be too difficult!

SuperNappy Fri 06-Dec-13 14:58:01

I have very little knitting experience but crochet is definitely easier. Cock ups are much more easily rectified too.

I can't see the zombie brooches in the pre-sale albums. Any idea when they'll be coming up?

SoupDragon Fri 06-Dec-13 15:28:53

My knitting attempts have been pitiful too smile I think I am a born hooker.

HoggyTruffle Fri 06-Dec-13 15:39:08

Soupy will materialise in the snowy tardis to birdnap the robins. wink

JollySparklyGiant Fri 06-Dec-13 15:41:10

Oh I can't see them either Ria. How strange.

SoupDragon Fri 06-Dec-13 16:05:13

I don't have a tardis sad

KnottyLocks Fri 06-Dec-13 16:05:50

Good question , Ria hmm

<potters off in search of Zombies>

KnottyLocks Fri 06-Dec-13 16:06:27

Not every day you actually go looking for zombies, is it? grin

SoupDragon Fri 06-Dec-13 16:09:56

Clearly you don't live in Croydon.

KnottyLocks Fri 06-Dec-13 16:10:36

grin

KnottyLocks Fri 06-Dec-13 16:11:50

There will be zombies for sale at some point but not today. We'll get the little darlings sorted.

SuperNappy Fri 06-Dec-13 22:18:03

I'll keep an eye out, Pidj, but I also have children who interrupt my internet usage!

Does anyone else keep finding new things that they want to buy? grin

I really want the robins.

KnottyLocks Fri 06-Dec-13 22:25:20

Seems everyone wants the robins grin

I'm going to go for it but don't fancy my chances. There are some amazingly fast people. fenvy

Hope the post office is ready for you btw!

MrsKwazii Sun 08-Dec-13 20:44:50

rosebudandvodka Sun 08-Dec-13 21:14:03

I really really wanted a robin.
Too damn slow!

rubycon Sun 08-Dec-13 21:26:22

sorry I missed out on it all - I was busy removing the North Sea and sand from my home fsad but I hope it all went down a storm ......

Have I missed it?

Oh ruby were you flooded? fsad are you ok?

MrsKwazii Sun 08-Dec-13 21:45:16

Oh blimey Ruby, hope the damage isn't too bad.

rubycon Sun 08-Dec-13 22:59:15

It was only 2ft deep, so we were remarkably lucky compared to others in the village. The place is drying out nicely and hopefully things will be sorted out soon. I think Christmas is cancelled though - we had to eat the Christmas dinner as it was in the dead freezer!

SoloXantiaClaws Mon 09-Dec-13 00:12:35

Has everything been sold?

SecretSantaFix Mon 09-Dec-13 00:16:32

What about insurance Ruby?

SoupDragon Mon 09-Dec-13 07:53:34

On the plus side, Ruby, you were getting the North Sea out of your house and not your house out of the North Sea... it looked utterly horrendous along the coast sad

Hope everything is sorted quickly!

SoupDragon Mon 09-Dec-13 07:54:15

If there was anything of mine you were interested in, I'll happily make another smile

RatherBeOnThePiste Mon 09-Dec-13 08:24:25

Oh Soupy, that is so kind of you, bless your heart X

Solo there are a couple of things left, yes, it was such a melee by Sunday, I think things got overlooked, will be bumping them a bit later today.

QOD - mostly yes I'm afraid, but not all - have a look at MNWoollyHUgs and find the event page.

Hugs Ruby Xx

rubycon Mon 09-Dec-13 10:29:11

all being sorted now thanks - have sent off a begging email to see if they can get a shift on delivering the washing machine - its not pleasant sharing the bath with clothes!

We were really fortunate to have just had water damage, most of the other properties had oil tank contamination.

At one point stood there in me wellies with the water lapping round my ankles (the place is raised 2ft off the ground) with the candlelight flickering and the woodburner belting heat out - it did remind me a bit of the Titanic.

I can say that it was an experience, so had the earthquake a few years back - can I opt out of fire and a plague of boils? I know I've been hideously bad in the past but I think I've paid my dues now!

Soupy - such a kind offer, but I'm blowed if I know what you sent to WW.

oh no ruby, hope you get sorted quickly thanks

a massive well done to pistey and knotty for all their hard work!!

Woolfey Mon 09-Dec-13 15:50:44

Oh Ruby, I'm so sorry to hear that sad Unfortunately I have experience of water damage and it's horrendous. I do hope the insurance company sorts it out for you and the place dries out quickly thanks

Who won the draw??

I'm allowed to ask as I'm not a contender. Nasty person people beat me to all the things I wanted to buy <sob> <sob> Perhaphs the craft crew should start making stuff now for next christmas so I have a chance of buying something we'd raise Mega Money!! fgrin
