I'm afraid we bring very sad news. Echt's wonderful husband died in July, suddenly and unexpectedly due to a stroke. Such devastating news, we are so sorry that life has been so cruel. Our love and thoughts are with her and their family. Lovely Echt’s thread is here if you would like to add your condolences.
We offered to make a blanket for her, and are so pleased that she has said she would love one. We will all be holding her hand and hope that she will feel the love and support from us all, and that the blanket will bring whatever comfort it can.
Lovely Echt is known to many across the Mumsnet community, many thanks to all those who approached us for her.
So to the Woolly Hug, we would be very grateful for your help.
We will need crocheters, knitters and donors (of funds or wool) So if you are able to join with us, please PM, and also if you are offering to donate, or need a donor, we can match you up.
Thank you so much.

From Echt
He loved cooking, did it all, and our daughter's regular gift was a spatula.
He was an avid birdwatcher, with kookaburras and galahs his favourites, and loved tall flowers such as kangaroo paws and verbena bonariensis. **Please message us if you can help with any of these birds/flowers. We have pics, and can help with supplementary colours needed.
Initials would be M, H and F.
He loved Japan, Mount Fuji and the shinkansen.
He loved community radio - we have the logo from E, will post in the thread, and we have the logo of the Housing register which he helped devise. Be great to get these in too.
Squares to be 6 inches, using 4mm hook or needles. All crafting abilities genuinely welcome, squares made by beginner or expert are equally welcomed. It really is the love and thought that counts.
When ready for posting, please PM for info. As always, we thank you so much for your support.
Our Crafting Guide is a good place for support, and previous blankets can be seen on our website too. We are on Facebook - Woolly Hugs and Twitter too @Woolly_Hugs both are good ways to keep in touch.
Echt my lovely, we are thinking of you, and your wonderful DH, family and friends. Sending so much love. xx
